I initially trained as a painter and art historian, and now draw on a wide range of media and practice to engage with themes of history and memory, transience and survival, absence and presence.
My ideas are articulated mainly through installation and smaller-scale cabinet compositions.
Recent work in metal, clay, cloth and paper has referenced clothing forms and fragments derived from Classical Greek and Roman art, especially sculpture, through which I attempt to suggest the lingering physical ‘memory’ of human presence and natural phenomena.
The first phase of this project was exhibited at Bear Steps Gallery in Shrewsbury in 2019, in a solo show entitled ‘Ghost Wardrobe’.
