Raven Studios is working to link the many and varied arts organisations and artist groups in Shrewsbury and Shropshire, and to provide a place where they can be listed, alongside our Artscape map of visual arts venues in the county.
The organisations below are artist groups that come together to put on joint exhibitions, etc, based on areas of Shropshire but with no fixed venue.
Borderland Visual Arts, Oswestry. The group holds an annual Open Studios and Art Trail on the second and third weekends in June and has regular exhibitions in The Willow Gallery in Oswestry. There is also a permanent exhibition space in the Oswestry Library where they display their work. www.borderlandvisualarts.com
DASH (Disability Arts in Shropshire). A Disability Visual Arts organisation whose mission is to develop Disability Arts practice by creating opportunities for Disabled artists to develop their creative practice. These opportunities take many forms, from high quality commissions to community based workshops. https://www.dasharts.org/
Participate Contemporary Art, Shrewsbury. A group of artists focussed on providing quality Arts Participation in the Shrewsbury area in community and public settings in partnership with other organisations, and on widening art participation through art workshops for the public, including on-line. https://www.participateart.org
Severn Art, Jackfield. Artist studios, gallery, car parking & cafe. Annual art exhibition and open studios centred around Jackfield, Broseley and Ironbridge, usually held during the first 2/3 weeks of September. Any Shropshire based artists welcome to apply. www.secretsevern.co.uk
Shrewsbury Film Photography Club. An informal group with a shared interest in any type of analogue photography, that meets regularly for workshops, socials and holds an annual exhibition. https://www.facebook.com/groups/670237980502285
Shropshire Arts Society, Shrewsbury. A community of artists who showcase their work in two annual art exhibitions in Shrewsbury, and organise a wide variety of activities for their members including workshops and classes, plein-air sketching days, lectures, gallery trips and painting holidays. www.shropshireartsociety.org.uk
The Arts Society Shrewsbury. The Society provides opportunities for members to enjoy stimulating and interesting lectures, Special Interest Days and outings which will increase their knowledge and understanding of the Arts. https://www.theartssocietyshrewsbury.org.uk
